''Tum Dena Saath Mera'' was an Indian soap opera which premiered on channel Life OK on 19 December 2011 and ran until its cancellation due to low ratings on 21 April 2012. The series chronicles the lives of a newly married couple, Abhilasha and Manan, who move to Mumbai with their dreams and aspirations. The show revolves around their romance and the trials and tribulations they face in metropolitan Mumbai. ==Plot== Abhilasha (born 19 November 1992), lives in the small town of Sagar and is married to Manan, born (2 April 1989) and brought up in Bhopal. She is a naïve and emotionally dependent woman who looks to others to make her decisions, and who desires love and a simple life. Manan is stubborn and ambitious about chasing material success. A hardworking professional, he has forgotten to enjoy the simple pleasures around him and he sets off to the big city chasing his dreams and ambitions. Married by arrangement, the young couple has dreams in their eyes and hopes in their hearts as they begin their marital life in Mumbai. What remains to be seen is whether or not Abhilasha can adjust to the culturally alienating milieu of metropolitan Mumbai. In the "City of Dreams" life throws constant surprises at the two, at times not so pleasant; however, it's their love that gives them courage to fight against all odds and sail through tough tides. In an early episode, Manan and Abhilasha are on their way back to Manan's house in Bhopal after their wedding. Upon arrival, Manan receives a letter for a new job with a 35,000 rupees salary in Mumbai. Everyone else in the series considers Abhilasha's arrival a good omen for Manan and family and welcome the new couple. The newlyweds enjoy romantic moments for the next two days before it is time to leave for Mumbai. The next morning Manan's mother informs him that his train for Mumbai leaves in the next 24 hours. Manan wants to take Abhilasha to Mumbai, however, his mother and aunt plan that the new bride will not join him. At the train station, Pinku Babu (Manan's brother-in-law) notices a sad Manan and sends Sumit to bring Abhilasha from home. Under pressure from Manan's father and Pinku Babu, Manan's mother agrees to send Abhilasha to Mumbai. In Mumbai, the couple starts living with Manan's childhood friend Siddharth Varma and his roommate Deep. Because Siddharth's apartment is somewhat of a bachelor pad, resident Mrs. Zariwala doubts Abhilasha's presence (mistaking her for a girlfriend or a hooker). With no luggage of her own, old-fashioned Abhilasha wears Siddharth's friend Samyukta's modern apparel reluctantly. Manan sends Sumit pictures of Abhilasha's new look which shocks Manan's mother. Before leaving for work, Manan cautions Abhilasha against letting strangers in and to stay at home. When Abhilasha lets a vacuum saleswoman into the house who steals her earrings, Manan gets worried and leaves his office immediately. The next day, he is reprimanded by his boss, Shaila Mehta. When Manan's mother repeatedly calls Abhilasha to get her luggage from a family friend and Manan (shouts at his wife for repeatedly calling him), she asks Mrs. Zariwala for accompany her. Later Manan gets angry at Abhilasha and stops talking to her. Soon however, they make up. The next day Manan finds Abhilasha crying because she is overwhelmed by Siddharth's friends acting wildly inside the apartment. Manan soon decides to move out and after several attempts relocates to Goregaon with Rajeev's help. Later that day, Rajeev arrives with his girlfriend Roma and engages in sexual activity in Manan's bedroom. Enraged, Abhilasha prepares to go back to Bhopal and Manan returns the keys to Rajeev's house. The next day Manan is promoted to Rajeev's post (worth 70,000 rupees salary) and Abhilasha decides to stay in Mumbai. In Mumbai, Manan faces financial woes when trying to buy a house. Back in Bhopal, Riddhi's marriage proposals fail due to high dowry demands creating rifts among the family. Trying to help Manan, Abhilasha competes in a Television quiz contest and wins 25,000 rupees. When Abhilasha tells her mother-in-law that she wishes to open a personal bank account, Manan's mother doubts her intentions, however, when Abhilasha buys a new laptop with her reward and sends it to Sumit, her mother-in-law is overcome with shame. Riddhi's marriage proposals fail due to high dowry demands creating rifts among the family. When a suitable match is found, newer problems arise because of the daily increasing demands of the groom's family. After consulting with Manan, his father breaks off the marriage causing Riddhi to become depressed. Riddhi's mother soon plans to send her to her brother in Mumbai. After Manan finally finds a dream house, Abhilasha refuses to buy it because she sympathizes with the old owners, Mr. Janardhan and Mrs. Savita Deshpande (who've lost their only son and still are attached to the house). After several problems Manan finally buys the house 48 lakhs and the couple move in. However, at the last minute, Manan's financer refuses to loan him the remaining 15 Lakhs for the house. This enrages the Deshpandes who (fearing deceit) send the police to threaten the couple. Under pressure, Manan asks his father for the money who agrees to help. That same night, Manan and Abhilasha consummate their love for the first time. Manan soon organizes a house-warming party and asks his wife to wear a revealing dress; however, Abhilasha is uncomfortable with that idea and instead wears a traditional sari. After the couple argue and fight following the party, Manan leaves the house and joins Deep and Siddharth at a club. There Manan meets Ria Oberoi and helps her up to her hotel room as she is drunk. Fearing Manan's welfare, Abhilasha reaches the hotel and tries to help Manan where (with Deep's help) Manan evades being caught with Ria. Back in Bhopal, Manan's family decides to travel to Mumbai for Holi and surprise the couple. The next morning Seema catches her intoxicated son trying to kiss his wife in public and slaps him in front of the neighborhood. Disappointed in her son and daughter-in-law, Seema assumes complete responsibility of the household. Unable to talk to his wife, Manan secretly reserves a room in a hotel instructing Abhilasha to meet him. At the same time, Riddhi sprains her ankle and Abhilasha is forced to stay. Tensions arise for Manan in the workplace as well as the company's new Managing Director is Ria Oberoi. Ria remembers meeting Deep, Siddharth, and Manan a fortnight ago at the club and falsely believes that Manan took advantage of her. After many public/private humiliations, Manan lashes out and tells Ria the truth. Still shocked, Ria doesn't believe Manan and instead works him like a slave. Slowly, tensions arise between Abhilasha and Manan since he works at Ria's house everyday. As employer and employee inform each other of their ambitious plans, Ria warms up towards Manan too quickly—beginning with another promotion (worth 1 lakh rupees) and extravagant gifts. Unaware of Manan's marital status, Ria soon proposes to Manan and when he indirectly refuses she vows to humiliate him and force him to say 'yes'. At home, Seema advises Abhilasha on how to win Manan back and at work, Manan (fearing failure) begins a legitimate affair with Ria. In order to sabotage Manan's first coffee date with Ria, Siddharth sends Samyukta with Riddhi and Abhilasha to the same cafe but luckily Manan escapes with Ria. The next day when Ria decides to visit her boyfriend, Manan introduces Abhilasha as his sister-in-law.
